Songkhram, so-called Muang Mae Klong, houses the famous
Don Hoi Lot. Though the temperature here is lower than
in Chiang Mai, Lychees of the two provinces are of the
same quality. Samut Songkhram's lychee is available during
the season at Tha Kha Floating Market . Renting a boat
to travet along villages sitting on the banks of various
khlongs here is recommended for those seeking to experience
the local people's traditional way of living while enjoying
nature.

Wat
Ban Laem or Phetsamutworawihan Temple
in downtown Samut Songkhram is the most respected temple
of the province, incorporating Buddha's image, Luang Pho
Ban Laem, which draws hordes of pilgrims throughout the
year.
Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram,
built by the Bang Chang family, is believed to be the
birthplace of King Rama II . Inside is s church which
shows the unique beauty of early Rattanakosin era architecture.
To arrive at this temple, take Highway 35 and later 325.
King Rama II Memorial Park
near Wat Amphawan, features traditional Thai-styled buildings
and art objects from the Rattanakosin era.
Wat Bang Kaphom, an old temple constucted in the late
Ayutaya era, houses an outstanding old church. On the

Tha Kha Flooting Market is
held on every 2nd , 7th 12th lunar days between 06.00-12.00
Local food, fruits and vegetables from local villages
as well as tours to villages, coconut gardens and lychee
gardens are available. Druing Apil and May every year,
a lychee contest is held. To reach this market, take Highway
325, turn right at the 32-km. Marker and continue for
another 5 km.

Hoi Lot,
a famous destination of this province, is separated from
Don Nok which is adjacent to Mae Klong Bay and Don Nai
next to the Chu Chi beach and Bang Bo village. March to
May is the best season to visit this place, when a sunset
festival is held. Take Highway 35 and the place is ahead
if downtown.
