in the low North is also called "the city of two
river tributaries." Among the many attractions of
this province are Thung Salaeng Laung, Phu Hin Rong Kla,
Phu Soi Dao, and most importantly the ---Phra Buddha Chinnarat-
a Buddha image where visitors go to pay their respects.

Wat
Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan
is Phitsanulok's most important temple. The Phra Buddha
Chinnarat-the world's most beautiful Buddha image- is
located here. A large number of Thai and foreign visitors
come here every year. This temple is on Cha Kan Bun Road
in Muang district.
King Naresuan the Great's Shrine
stands in Phitsanulok Phitthayakhom School, a sacred
place for local people and visitors.
Wat Phra Buddhabat Khao Samo Khraeng
lies 14 km off Muang Phitsanulok on Phitsanolok-Lom Sak
Road. Inside the temple ae a miniature Buddha footprint
and a footprint on the mountain's wall. A large white
jade Bodhisattva Kuan-Im image-themost beautiful Kuan-Im
image in the world from China- was enshrined in this temple
in early 1992.

Thung
Salaeng Laung National Park is a
lush-green park decorated by mountains and Sawanna prairies
(thung in Thai) Attractions in
this national park are the Kaeng Sopha Waterfall, an 80-metre-long
sling bridge crossing the kheg river , Thung Salaeng Luang,
Thung None Son, Thung Phaya, and pine forests. The national
park, perfect for tracking and camping , is situated on
the 80 km marker on Highway 12 from Phitsanulok to Lom
Sak.
Phu Soi Dao National Park
where the the top of the highest mountain Khao Soi Dao
remains foggy all year. The national park is home to the
wonderful Phu Soi Dao Waterfall, pine forests, wild flowers
which are concentrated in Thung Dok Ngon Nak, and wild
orchid. Highway 1237 leads to this national park.
Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park
is an old battle field which is now mesmerising site surrounded
by green mountains. Inside are historical attractions
such as a battle museum, a political military school,
a windmill, the Royal Thai Army's cemetery, and an anti-communist
village. Among natural attractions are the Si Phatcharin
Waterfall , the broken rock ground, the Tat Fa Waterfall
and the Man Daeng Waterfall. To reach this national park,
take Highway 2331 from Nakhon Thai district.
Chat Trakan Waterfall National Park
contains a 7 - layer Chat Trakan waterfall, and the Pha
Lek tunnel where evidence of first human are has been
found. To reach this national park, take the road from
Phitsanulok to Lom Sak, turn left at Ban Yaeng to Highway
2013 for 29 km, turn left at Nakhon Thai district to Highway
1143 for 38 km, and turn right to Highway 1237 before
reaching Chat Trakan district.
