Nakhon
Sawan is a major gateway to the nortern part of Thailand.
It is renowned as the origin of the Chao Phraya River.
Compared to other northern provinces, Nakhon Sawan in
not so rich in terms of the number of tourist attractions.
Still attractions, including Bueng Boraphet (a pond) and
fertile Mae Wong forests, have mes merised a large number
of tourists.

Wat
Chom Khiri Nakphrot on
Khao Buat Nak, stands between Dechatiwong bridge and Chiraprawat
Camp, and is Known for its miniature Buddha footprint
and the church which local people call " the angels'
work". The top of the Buat Nak mountain overlooks
the serene view of the Chao Phraya River and Khao Kop.Wat
Woranat Banphot
an old building located on a hill in the heart of Nakhon
Sawan, can be reached after climbing 437 stairs. Inside
the temple are a miniature Buddha footprint and a pagoda
containing the Buddha's remains. The pagoda was built
during the Sukhothai era. There is another pagoda at the
foot of the hill.
Ban Khok Mai Dan, Situated
33 km off Muang Chiang Mai on Phahonyathin Road, is a
major historical site dating back to the Sukhothai era.

Bueng
Boraphet
is the country's largest fresh water lake housing a variety
of fresh water organisms and
plants, which is a major attraction of the province. A
survey
has revealed that 148 living creatures and 44 plants live
in this lake. Among the endangered species are Chao Fa
Ying Sirindhorn birds (local birds named after HRH Princess
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn).
Mae Wong National Park bordering
Kamphaeng Phet and Nakhon Sawan, poses as an interesting
attraction. It accommodates Kaeng Pha Nang Khoi (a cliff),
Bo Nam Un (warm water well) and
the Mae Wera Waterfall, among others. To reach this national
park, take Nakhon Sawan-Lat Yao-Khlong Lan Highway 1072
and join Highway 1117 at the latter's 65 km marker.
Thung Kin Thoen lies 100
km from Muang Chiang Mai from Ban Kluai Hom's Road. It
is a hilly prairie where large rocks are grouped in laters
and in different patterns. It is a naturally magnificent
rock garden.
