Phet is famous for both its culture and natural offerings.
More than 700 years old, this province has a renowned
historical site and a varsity of
artefacts. Nestling among several natural parks, it is
also called a park city. Tourists should not miss out
on kluai khai- a kind of banana - which is a famous export
product of the province.

Kamphaeng
Phet Historical Park includes
several historical sites, mostly built for religious purposes,
including Wat Phra Kaeo,
Wat Phra Si Ariyabot (the temple with Buddha images in
four positions) and Wat Chang Lom. This park stands 5
km off Muang district, or on the right-hand side of the
360 km marking stone on the Kamphaeng Phet-Phran Kratai
Road.
Wat Phra Kaeo, a major temple
of the province, is situated in the heart of Muang chiang
Mai next to the old royal palace, and resembles Wat Phra
Si Sanphet in Ayutthaya. This temple was built mostly
by stone. In the centre of the temple is a Lankan-styled
round pagoda. Festivals like the Kluai Khai festival are
celebrated in this temple.

Khlong
Lan Waterfall National Park embraces
several attractions, including the large Khlong Lan Waterfall
and the Khlong Nam Lai Waterfall where water never
stops running on its nine layers, making it perfect for
viewing during October and December. To reach this national
park, turn right on to Highway 1117 from the 346 km marker
on Phaholyothin Road in Khlong Mae Lai village. Continue
for 36 km more when the national park sigh will appear.
The park's office is 6 km away.
Mae Wong National Park spans
the connecting point of Kamphaeng Phet and Nakhon Sawan
provinces, and has many attractions, including Kang Pha
Nang Khoi, Mae Krasa Waterfall, Mae Riwa Waterfall, Mokuju
mountain top, natural tracks, natural forests, and birds.
Chong Yen where the weather is cool all year round also
offers accommodation. This national park is on Highway
1117 from Khlong Lan to Umphang. The national park's office
is 19 km from the main road.
Khlong Wang Chao National Park
is a new national park in Kosamphi village, 70 km off
Muang district, enveloping several waterfalls, including
Khlong Samo Kluai Waterfall and Tao Kham Waterfall as
well as Karen village. To approach this national park,
take Kamphaeng Phet - Tak Highway to Wang Chao-Lokho village.
Sanam Phriang Wildlife Sanctuary
is an attractive park with cool weather which enables
temperate pine trees to grow. It is 7 km away from the
left-hand side of the 380 km marking stone on the Kamphaeng
Phet-Tak Highway.
