Wonderful palaces and temples
The Grand Palace standing next to Sanam Luang, was constructed by King Rama I immediately after Bangkok was made the capital to replace Thon Buri. Inside the spacious palace exist sevseral small palaces notably the Dusit Palace, the Arphonphimok Palaces, the Phiman Rataya Palace and the Chakri Palace. The Emerald Buddha temple is also located in its vicinity.
Wat Phra Sirattana Sattadaram (Emerald Buddha temple) enshrines the Emerald Buddha or so-called Phra Kaew Morakot in the lavishly-decorated church. The terrace around yhe church also shows magnificent paintings.
Wat Bowonniwet Wihan on Sumain road, houses Phra Buddha Shinnasi and old wall painting complaimed in this area.
Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimolmangkhararam or Wat Pho, stands next to the Grand Palace. The temple was during the King Rama I ear and renovated by King Rama III

Who also ordered the construction of a large Buddha imasge in a walking posture. The temple is held as Thailand's university.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Woramahawihan on Arun Amarin road, by the Chao Phraya River, is highighted by a large stupa beautifully reflecting light at night.
Wat Ratchanaddaram Worawihan on Mahachai road , is the only metal building in the world since the metal building in India and Sri Lanka have eroded.
Wat Ratchbophit Sathimahasimaram on Fuangnakhon road, has a church's doors and windows are enhanced by rare pattern and several Royal pearl decoration decorations.

Wat Suthat Thepwararam next to the Soa Ching Cha, is recommended for a beautiful Buddha image names Phar Srisakayamuni and the church's door, marvellously carved by experts during the old rattanakosin era.
Wat Saket (Phukhao Thong or goden Mountain) standing by Khong Mahanak, has a Golden Pagoda named Borom Banphot. On top of the chedi are Lord Buddha's relics.
The Anantasamakhom Palace is a marble renaissance-styled building with great paintings displaying the activities during the priod from the reign of King Rama I to King Rama VI on the ceiling of the dome. The palace sits on the back of the King Rama V statue.
Wat Benchamabophit on Sriayuthaya road, is famous for its church built by merbles left over from the construction of the Anantasamakhom palace.
